What is RSS?

RSS, which stands for "really simple syndication", means you can stay in touch with many different sources of news and information. Rather than having to revisit a site several times a day to check for new entries or headlines, RSS readers scan for updates and display them for you.

About RSS readers

An RSS readers is a special software programme which automatically checks for and download content from web-sites such as Blog entries or news headlines to be displayed in a window on your desktop. To receive these updates the user must subscribe to the site by adding a feed to the reader. (look for the logo on the left)

Adding Feeds

The way you add RSS feeds differs from one feed reader to another. But usually, you just copy the URL of the feed (from the address bar on your browser) and paste it into the feed reader. Clicking on the above logo will normally take you to the FEED page

Getting RSS feed reader software

If you don't already have an RSS reader on your computer, they can easily be downloaded for free from the internet. Once you have it on your computer desktop you can add or remove RSS feeds of your choice.
